Supporting Children with Cancer UK in 2025

We're thrilled to announce that Barracudas Holiday Camps will be supporting Children with Cancer UK as our chosen charity for 2025!

After three wonderful years supporting Save the Children, during which we were proud to raise £2,630 in 2024 alone, we are excited for the opportunity to help raise funds for another incredible cause. Children with Cancer UK is dedicated to funding vital research and supporting families affected by childhood cancer, making a real difference in the lives of children across the country.

At Barracudas, we believe in giving back and teaching children the importance of helping others. Throughout 2025, we'll be raising funds for Children with Cancer UK in a variety of ways. When booking your child’s place at our holiday camps, you’ll have the option to make a small donation to the charity via our online booking system, powered by Pennies. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps support this amazing cause.

Children with Cancer UK

Children with Cancer UK’s vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer. They are the leading childhood cancer charity in the UK, supporting families and childhood cancer research since 1988. Over the last 36 years, they have developed kinder treatments, improved public, and scientific understanding of childhood cancer, and raised over £300 million. They have funded over 300 research projects which have significantly contributed to survival rates which have improved from 67% to 85.2%, as well as providing 75,000 patients and their families “amazing days out”.In addition to online donations, we’ll be hosting fun fundraising events during both our Easter and summer camps. These events will give children the chance to get involved in exciting activities while contributing to a great cause. Donations can be made easily with cash tins available on camp or through a QR code linked directly to our fundraising page.

Pennies

Pennies is an award-winning fintech charity with an important mission: to protect and grow micro-donations – ensuring the public has digital ways to keep donating the small amounts of money that are so vital for charitable causes. When booking we give parents the option to make micro donations to support charities in need. Donating a few pence to charity when paying by card or mobile wallet is as simple as a single press of a button or click of a mouse. The option to give appears automatically in the card payment process: on the card terminal in-store, or at the checkout online or in-app. Hundreds of thousands of customers are making their digital pennies count for charity every single week, helping increase the impact charities can have in the communities they serve.
