Launching our new Rocketeers Skills Builder course
We have lift off!
Barracudas is excited to announce our new rocket science Skills Builder for 2023.
This out of this world course will stretch their curiosity about space and expand their knowledge.
Developing with Skills Builder courses
Skills Builder courses can be added to any full week booking, subject to availability. The course will replace a standard session on the timetable each day throughout the week. Children will join the specialist course for one session each day and will be their group for the other 5 sessions.
These progressive courses are designed to ignite passions and develop knowledge and skills.
About Rocketeers
We’ve partnered with Water Rokit to design a fun and engaging course, ideal for children aged 7 - 14 years old.
With 5 progressive sessions throughout the week, they'll learn about the same principles that NASA and Space X use when they launch their space rockets. Group sizes will be limited to 12 children, so they’ll get maximum opportunities for learning and development.
Supported by Barracudas staff, kids will love developing their knowledge and have fun launching their own Water Rokits.
Throughout the course they will discover how to launch a rocket into space, using their very own Water Rokit kit. They'll experiment and explore the elements of launch, including their crucial mission to return their astronaut safely to earth.
As well as a comprehensively developed programme, they’ll also build up a dictionary of space terms throughout the week.
This course will stretch their curiosity about space and expand their knowledge.
They'll be a qualified Rocketeer at the end of the week. Not only that, but they'll also get to take a Water Rokit kit home at the end!
This new course will be available Easter and summer 2023 at Cambridge Long Road, Chislehurst, High Wycombe, Norwich, Streatham and Tonbridge. The course will also be available for summer 2023 at Barnet, Bedford, Chelmsford, Cobham, Croydon, Huntingdon, Letchworth, Maidenhead, Twickenham Waldegrave and Wokingham.
About Water Rokit
This amazing rocket science kit was developed by Hinterland, a British, family-owned company passionate about bringing science alive for children.
Water Rokit is the preferred science item in the UK core science curriculum. This re-usable piece of kit is a fun and engaging way to teach kids about the laws of motion.
Kids will love learning about space exploration, rocket launches and the physics and forces of motion by taking part using Water Rokit for practical experiments.

STEM for kids
Barracudas is committed to igniting passions and developing skills for kids. As well as Water Rokits, we also offer Discovery Squad Skills Builder for 4 ½ - 8 year olds. On top of that, we also offer some fun science based activities as another STEM activity as part of our general timetable.
