Each year the Alliance Against Bullying highlight the issue of Bullying and help us to focus on ways in which we can tackle the issue.
Anti-Bullying Week 2020 is from 16th - 20th November and kicks off with Odd Socks Day on Monday 16th. Last year 75% of UK schools got involved with the message ‘Change Starts With Us’ reaching over 700 million young people. We hope that once again this will raise awareness of bullying and help us to pull together to find a way to combat it and its devastating effects.
Anti-Bullying Manifesto
This year’s theme, which has been developed with the help of over 300 young people and 100 members of school staff, is United Against Bullying. We love the manifesto they’ve developed:
“This year, more than ever, we’ve witnessed the positive power that society can have when we come together to tackle a common challenge.
Anti-Bullying Week is no different. Bullying has a long lasting effect on those who experience and witness it. But by channelling our collective power, through shared efforts and shared ambitions, we can reduce bullying together. From parents and carers, to teachers and politicians, to children and young people, we all have a part to play in coming together to make a difference.
We’re all a piece in the puzzle, and together, we’re united against bullying.”
