Meet Recruitment Coordinator, Burkey (Sam)!

What's your role at Barracudas and what do you love about it?

Recruitment Coordinator for Area 3! 

I really do enjoy talking to the seniors during camp about their staff members of the week! Especially if someone from my area wins the overall SMOTW!

How long have you worked at Barracudas?

I worked on Camp for Barracudas in 2016 and 2021, before joining head office. I’ve been here for over 2 years. 

What is your main hobby?

I’m a big football fan, but my life is consumed by all things theatre. Whether that’s directing or acting in a show. 

What do you enjoy most about working for Barracudas?

When the office teambuilding days come around, I’m usually overseeing the competitive elements. I get a kick out of creating slight chaos with various activities.

Have you ever worked at camp, if so what was it like? 

I’ve worked as a Dance & Drama Instructor and Senior Sports Instructor. I had a great time as SSI, especially during Staff Cluedo. I also enjoyed seeing staff member progression throughout a season. 

Describe in 3 words why you love working for Barracudas? 

Teamwork. Atmosphere. Cake.
